About the Summit

Crowned by an international observatory founded in 1978, the iconic Mont-Mégantic invites visitors on a journey between nature and the cosmos. Parc national du Mont-Mégantic is known for its mountains, ridges and valleys, which support exceptional biodiversity, including more than 125 bird species and mammals such as moose and white-tailed deer. At the summit, visitors will find an astronomy research centre, the Observatoire scientifique and the Observatoire populaire, which is open to the public. At the foot of the mountain, ASTROLab offers an immersive experience combining science, nature and astronomy. This signature destination in the Mégantic region offers a unique escape for passionate hikers and stargazers alike.
