A well-kept secret, this border summit straddles the Canada-U.S. border and is only accessible via Montagne de Marbre. Offering a deep wilderness experience, this hike is best suited to experienced hikers. Nicknamed “saddleback” because of its shape, the mountain offers a remarkable athletic challenge and a true wilderness feel. In summer, the trail is lined with raspberry bushes and ferns, while in winter, the ascent becomes an excellent route for hikers seeking sustained effort. When accessible, the panorama from the summit is spectacular. Capture your achievement with the Rencontre au Sommet sign, one of the hardest to reach. This summit is part of the Sentiers frontaliers network, and membership helps support trail maintenance. Closed in fall during hunting season.
