Montagne de Marbre

With its towering 400-metre cliff, Montagne de Marbre offers one of the most impressive landscapes in the Mégantic region. Located just metres from the Canada-U.S. border, this hike partly follows the SF1 trail along the “boundary,” where hikers are advised to stay on the Canadian side. At the summit, a spectacular view opens up over Mont Gosford and countless mountains in Maine. Quieter than many nearby summits, this mountain is a true gem for outdoor enthusiasts. Camping is available at the foot of the mountain, near lac Danger, on designated platforms. A more accessible alternative leads to the lake, allowing visitors to admire the cliff without reaching the summit. Dogs are permitted on leash. Closed in fall during hunting season.
