Scotch Cap

Linked to the presence of Paleo-Indigenous peoples and General Benedict Arnold’s expedition, Scotch Cap is located in Piopolis and overlooks the Trois-Lacs valley. It is one of the Mégantic region’s landmark summits. Rising to 550 metres, this mountain, named for its Scottish-cap-like shape, features an out-and-back trail leading to three spectacular viewpoints. Hikers will discover a remarkable mixed forest and panoramic views of the border mountains, as well as lacs des Joncs, aux Araignées and Mégantic. Popular with trail runners, Scotch Cap offers a manageable challenge for active hikers. Dogs are permitted.
